Pekanbaru, February 26, 2025 – In response to the directive from the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems at Universitas Riau regarding the update of social media management, Head of Public Relations at FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Fajriani Ananda, S.Sos., M.Si., led a coordination meeting with public relations teams from all study programs and departments within FISIP UNRI. The meeting, held in the Dean’s Meeting Room at FISIP UNRI, aimed to strengthen publication strategies and ensure more effective information dissemination, particularly in preparation for the 2025-2026 academic year student admissions.
The Dean of FISIP, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that social media management is not merely a formality but serves as the faculty’s digital identity.
"Social media is the first showcase viewed by prospective students and the public. We must ensure that all necessary information is presented clearly, accurately, and engagingly. I expect FISIP to be more proactive in its publications—not just posting content but also fostering strong interactions with the audience," stated Dr. Meyzi.
Echoing this sentiment, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.A., highlighted the pivotal role of social media in shaping the faculty’s positive image.
"In today’s digital era, social media is not merely a communication platform but also a primary reference for prospective students and the public in assessing the credibility of FISIP UNRI," he remarked.
As the Head of Public Relations, Dr. Fajriani Ananda underscored the importance of synergy between the faculty’s public relations team and those of individual study programs and departments.
"Each academic unit has its own strengths and achievements that need to be widely showcased. Through strong collaboration and synergy, we can ensure that FISIP UNRI gains greater recognition and attracts more interest," she explained.
The public relations teams of all study programs and departments received guidance on news publication through the official website, content quality enhancement, and more innovative engagement strategies. With the update deadline set for February 26, 2025, all teams committed to optimizing their efforts in presenting more dynamic and relevant information to the public. This initiative strengthens FISIP UNRI’s position as a digitally adaptive faculty, ready to navigate the challenges of modern communication.
